Welcome to my blog & digital CV/teaching portfolio. I am an Assistant Professor of English at LaGuardia Community College, City University of New York.

I received my PhD in Theatre from CUNY Graduate Center. I’m working on a book project exploring race, citizenship, and US Civil War memories on the postbellum stage. My work has been published in Theatre History Studies, Journal of American Drama and Theatre, and Theatre Journal (co-author), as well as other places (see the publications page for a complete list). I have also presented several times at the national conferences for ASTR and ATHE, among others. Other research/teaching interests include speculative and sci-fi works (theatre, literature, and film/TV).

Prior to my current position, I worked as an adjunct and Writing Fellow at LaGuardia. As a Writing Fellow I advised and trained faculty from other disciplines to incorporate critical thinking and writing opportunities in the college classroom. I also devised and taught a variety of theatre courses at the College of Staten Island as a Graduate Teaching Fellow.

When I get a breather from teaching and research, I see theatre (of course), lure friends over so I can cook for them, binge-watch SFF things, dream about punching Nazis, and explore parks with my Brooklyn Badass Rescue dog, Leela.
